Claude Code certification alternatives, compared.
Competitor facts checked 6 October 2026
The short version
There's no single "Claude Code certification". Anthropic runs free courses, a partner-gated exam and a partner-only Claude Code badge. Other providers add exam prep, completion certificates and team workshops. We run an independent, assessed track. Which one fits depends on who you are and what you need to prove.

What to look for in an alternative
Four questions sort these options quickly. Who issues the credential, and will the person checking it recognise the name? Is anyone actually assessed, or does the course just end? Can you get access, or is it limited to partner organisations? And does it test the thing you care about, which is usually how someone works with Claude Code in a real repository.
Anthropic's own routes
Anthropic's free Claude Code 101 course teaches installation, the explore-plan-code-commit workflow, context management, code review, CLAUDE.md, subagents, skills, MCP and hooks, and ends in a quiz. Claude Code in Action is aimed at developers who already use Claude Code and want longer, less supervised, team-wide workflows. Both are free. Neither involves a proctor, and the pages we checked don't describe a verifiable credential.
Claude Certified Developer – Foundations is the official exam. It's one of four Anthropic exams delivered through Pearson VUE, and certification is open to organisations in the Claude Partner Network, so an individual can't simply book it. It covers the wider Claude platform, with Claude Code as one part. Separately, the Claude Partner Badge: Claude Code is a free Anthropic badge for partner consultants, with eight courses, a capstone and a 34-question scenario assessment, designed around deploying Claude Code for clients rather than checking an engineer's repository habits.
Preparation providers and completion certificates
Learning Tree sells live virtual and private-team courses that prepare people for Anthropic's exams. It says it does not issue its own certificate, so what you walk away with is preparation, not a credential. Coursera's Claude Code course from Vanderbilt University takes about five hours, includes two graded assignments and offers a shareable certificate. It's inexpensive and self-paced, which suits individual learners.
Team workshops and bootcamps
Providers such as claudeworkshop.com and claudeimplementation.com run hands-on training for engineering teams. claudeimplementation.com lists a two-day Claude Code bootcamp for up to 12 developers, delivered in person or virtually. claudeworkshop.com describes workshops built around a Delegate, Review, Own framework, delivered onsite, virtually or offsite. Neither page we checked states a price, a duration for every format or a final assessment, so ask each provider directly for those.
Where Sthuthi fits
Our Claude Code track is for companies and institutions that want evidence of what their own people can do. It combines cohort training with a proctored task in a live repository, reviewed by a human assessor, and issues a credential with a verifiable ID. It's open to any company without partner status. It is not an Anthropic credential and we don't present it as one.
- Choose Anthropic's free courses to learn the tool at no cost.
- Choose CCDV-F or the partner badge if you're in the Claude Partner Network and need Anthropic's name, or partner-tier credit.
- Choose a workshop for a fast, intensive team session where an assessment isn't the goal.
- Choose our track when you need your own engineers assessed in a repository, with a credential someone else can verify.

What to know about us before you compare
- Our credential is independent. Anthropic does not issue or endorse it, and it does not count toward Anthropic partner tiers.
- We quote per cohort and don't publish a price list or pass rates.
- We are new. Our cohorts so far are with companies, not yet with colleges.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an official Anthropic Claude Code certification?
Anthropic has an official developer exam that covers Claude Code (CCDV-F) and a Claude Partner Badge for Claude Code, but both are aimed at Claude Partner Network organisations. Its free Claude Code courses are open to everyone but end in a course quiz rather than a proctored assessment.
Can I take Anthropic's exam without my company being a partner?
Pearson VUE says certification is open to organisations in the Claude Partner Network, so individuals can't register on their own at the moment. Check Anthropic's page for the current rules, since they can change.
Which option is cheapest?
Anthropic's courses are free, and Coursera lets you enrol for free and pay only for the certificate. For assessed options, CCDV-F costs $125 per exam, while our track is quoted per cohort.
Can I combine these?
Yes, and many teams should. Free courses are good pre-work, and an independent assessment can verify what the training changed. A partner organisation can add Anthropic's exams on top for partner credit.
